How to Boost your Decision Making Skills

Our mind is one of the most important parts of our body. Its the thing that keeps us breathing and our hearts beating with out us consciously telling ourselves to. The mind is extremely powerful which is why I think everyone should take time to understand how our minds and memory effect our lives. There are different ways to work it, stretch it and make it grow. Just like a vehicle needs fuel our brains need fuel and energy as well. Our minds are split into two different decision making portions. The first portion is our conscious mind; its the side that we are aware of and use to make conscious decisions throughout the day. This type of decision making uses a lot of energy and can only process small amounts of data at a time. The second portion of the brain is what is called the sub-conscious mind. This portion is the opposite of the conscious mind and it only uses minimal amounts of energy but can process enormous amounts of data quickly and efficiently.

The importance of this is, we have the power to move some of our daily routine decisions over to our subconscious minds, which will help free up our conscious decision to make important decision throughout our days. To give you an example of this, let’s take Mark Zuckerberg for instance: have you ever wondered why he wears the same type of t shirts and pants every single day? It’s because he doesn’t want to use his precious conscious decision making energy on deciding what to wear today or for the week in this case. Now with that decision already made he can use that energy for other important decisions throughout the day.

You can do the same thing to. Take some time to start transferring different decision making actions over to your subconscious and before you know it you’ll have more brain energy to spend elsewhere!
